Service Description

This course will follow the syllabus of the Cambridge iGCSE, and seek to prepare students to take the exam in 2024 or 2025. In addition to building greater skills in the Latin language, we will seek to develop a broader understanding of how the language is used, focusing on context, emphasis and meaning. For the literature part of the syllabus, we will study Book III of Virgil's Aeneid in both the original language and in translation, critically assessing the poetry, and placing it in a broader context of both epic poetry and the great cycle of myth surrounding the Trojan war. Some Thinkers Meet Up Thinkers take this and other IGCSE classes for the subject content rather than exams, which is, of course, welcomed. However, if you are planning to take the exams, please ensure you have found an exam centre that suits your family.

Cancellation Policy

We will do our utmost to ensure every booked class takes place. However, we strongly believe in the value of conversation between thinkers. Thus, we will not run a class with less than the minimum number of students. If we do not have a full group 24 hours before the class is set to start we will, sadly, cancel the session, refund all participants, and seek to run the class at a different time. Our full booking and cancellation policy can be found in our Terms and Services.
