Course Description
Whether your Thinkers are gearing up to conquer upcoming IGCSE exams or simply want to explore the fascinating puzzle that is the English language, this course is designed to spark curiosity, fuel discussions, and build the skills Thinkers need to communicate their ideas in every context. Step into Caroline's Meet UP and get ready to explore, experiment, and truly enjoy the journey toward mastering English. Our 'English Language IGCSE and Fun' series, and yes, the fun is non-negotiable, covers everything in the I/GCSE English curriculums and then some. Think of it as the full picture, with extra colour. This course is flexible by design: Thinkers can sign up for all blocks or drop into any single one, no need to start at the beginning. Each block stands on its own two feet, meaning you can jump in at any point, pick up new skills, revisit and sharpen familiar ones, and steadily build the kind of confidence that turns language from something you study into something you own. You'll be working with the language of Shakespeare, Joyce, Morrison, Austen... and a whole constellation of voices beyond. Our Scholar Caroline puts it best: Having taught a wide range of exam boards, I am well-armed with the skills to be able to enthuse and engage young Thinkers, helping them to read deeply and for meaning, write for a variety of audiences, while also (hopefully!) finding a love and appreciation for the spoken, written, and typed word!
Cancellation Policy
All our classes require a minimum number of Thinkers to run. As soon as enough Thinkers sign up you will receive an e-mail from the Scholar running your class with a link to your virtual classroom. If we cannot gather enough thinkers to run a class we will, sadly, have to cancel and/or reschedule. If this is the case, we will e-mail 24 hours before your class is scheduled to start to let you know. To help ensure that your class does take place, please invite others to join you. We find that word of mouth is the best way to let new families know about Thinkers Meet Up. Thank you!
