Course Description
Chess is more than a game it is a fascinating world of strategy, problem-solving and possibility. In this interactive class, Thinkers will explore how each chess piece moves, learn essential tactics and discover how to plan several moves ahead. Through puzzles, guided games and lively discussion, they will practise spotting patterns, testing ideas, adapting their strategies and learning from every move. The class welcomes curious Thinkers of different abilities. Whether your child is learning the rules or already enjoys playing, they will be encouraged to develop their skills at an appropriate level while challenging themselves in a friendly, supportive environment. Chess helps build concentration, patience, confidence, creative thinking and decision-making but, most importantly, it is great fun! Come ready to think, experiment and discover what your next move could make possible.
Cancellation Policy
All our classes require a minimum number of Thinkers to run. As soon as enough Thinkers sign up you will receive an e-mail from the Scholar running your class with a link to your virtual classroom. If we cannot gather enough thinkers to run a class we will, sadly, have to cancel and/or reschedule. If this is the case, we will e-mail 24 hours before your class is scheduled to start to let you know. To help ensure that your class does take place, please invite others to join you. We find that word of mouth is the best way to let new families know about Thinkers Meet Up. Thank you!
