Advanced Science (Chemistry Focus)

Service Description

This course will explore science, with a focus on chemistry in more depth and breadth. We will look at the fundamentals of chemistry in more detail and (over this course and a follow up course next year) learn chemistry to a standard that could pass AP tests and A levels. The focus of this Advance Science course is to deepen knowledge of scientific skills, methods, and content, while linking this knowledge to areas of interest - scientific debates, current events, games/gaming, ethics and more. The lessons in the first half-term will cover the following topics: Atomic structure. The history of discoveries of the atom. The Bohr model of the atom. Electron configurations. The periodic table Radioactivity For students wishing to do this class for USA high school credit, reading and optional labs will be made available.

Cancellation Policy

We will do our utmost to ensure every booked class takes place. However, we strongly believe in the value of conversation between thinkers. Thus, we will not run a class with less than the minimum number of students. If we do not have a full group 24 hours before the class is set to start we will, sadly, cancel the session, refund all participants, and seek to run the class at a different time.
