Course Description
*** Please note IMPORTANT CHANGE TO PAYMENT INFORMATION at the bottom of this page - please book directly via tutor *** We’ll be exploring Homer’s epic tale of Odysseus and his ten-year, adventure-packed journey home from Troy to Ithaca. We’ll be exploring the characters, themes, structure and plot of the poem. We’ll explore particular episodes in more detail (the most fun ones!) to gain a greater understanding of how the characters, themes and plot are developed, and to examine Homer’s techniques. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in Classics or Literature in general, and also supports Classical Civilisation GCSE and A-Level components (though it doesn’t directly teach the syllabus it provides deeper understanding, context and analysis) The Homeric World and The World of the Hero. *** IMPORTANT PAYMENT INFORMATION *** The cost for the course is £66. Cancellation Policy
All our classes require a minimum number of Thinkers to run. As soon as enough Thinkers sign up you will receive an e-mail from the Scholar running your class with a link to your virtual classroom. If we cannot gather enough thinkers to run a class we will, sadly, have to cancel and/or reschedule. If this is the case, we will e-mail 24 hours before your class is scheduled to start to let you know. To help ensure that your class does take place, please invite others to join you. We find that word of mouth is the best way to let new families know about Thinkers Meet Up. Thank you!
