Course Description

*** Please note IMPORTANT CHANGE TO PAYMENT INFORMATION at the bottom of this page - please book directly via tutor *** We’ll be investigating the changes in society that led to war, and how being at war caused dramatic changes in society in Ancient Greece. Who were the winners and losers from the changes; how did people adapt to the new ways; what sort of people thrived, or were necessary for the success of the new types of community? We'll be discussing the roles of revolutionaries, reactionaries, rebels, conformists, visionaries, and opportunists. How did each of these groups affect society, and in which situations were their actions positive or damaging? We'll be investigating how communities can heal from huge rifts and divisions, and what makes a society flourish. All the Ancient History courses, and particularly this one, will help develop some key academic skills including analysis of the nature and process of change, continuity, cause and consequence, turning points, significance, and influencing factors. *** IMPORTANT PAYMENT INFORMATION *** The cost for the course is £66. Cancellation Policy

All our classes require a minimum number of Thinkers to run. As soon as enough Thinkers sign up you will receive an e-mail from the Scholar running your class with a link to your virtual classroom. If we cannot gather enough thinkers to run a class we will, sadly, have to cancel and/or reschedule. If this is the case, we will e-mail 24 hours before your class is scheduled to start to let you know. To help ensure that your class does take place, please invite others to join you. We find that word of mouth is the best way to let new families know about Thinkers Meet Up. Thank you!
