Hands up, who loves books?

Is there anything that can’t be improved by reading a book? Subject knowledge, general knowledge, literacy itself, empathy, understanding of people and situations beyond any experience of your own, a broken heart, a troubled mind, an otherwise boring day….

Seriously, reading is the key to almost everything. However you want to do it: hardback, paperback, any screen you choose. Anywhere at all: on the bus, a park bench, a café, your own sofa or bed, waiting for the bus, waiting for your friend, over breakfast – you get it.

But reading goes far beyond that: it opens doors to other worlds, it brings joy and pleasure (even when the book is heartbreaking), it allows you to experience and to learn.

But what if you don’t know what to read next? Or you want to learn about something new and don’t know where to start? At ThinkersMeetUp we think about these things constantly. When we’re not reading. Our courses introduce you to new subject areas, or new ways of thinking about them, and we also recommend where to go next.

But we also just love talking about books. So if you’d like to ask us any questions, ask for or give us recommendations, or just talk books – what are you reading now? what are your favourite books? - please leave us a comment here, we’d love to hear from you!
