Service Description
This is an interdisciplinary seminar where we invite Thinkers to explore a topic under the guidance of multiple Scholars, so they can explore the topic from multiple perspectives while undertaking their own research. Each week of this course will look at 'Nature: Power and Potential' from a different perspective, which might include (topics and order TBC): Philosophy: how humans have valued themselves as part of nature - or as outside nature. Politics: how do negotiate the value of nature History: how has nature been understood by ancient civilisations? Science: how can plants help the environmental crisis? Maths: how does maths help us understand the growth of nature English: literary interpretations of nature Music: representing nature in the arts Photography: using photography as a voice for nature. Throughout the 10 weeks, Thinkers will be encouraged to create a portfolio or project of learning. The shape of this will be up to the Thinker, although TMU will provide some suggestions.
Cancellation Policy
We will do our utmost to ensure every booked class takes place. However, we strongly believe in the value of conversation between thinkers. Thus, we will not run a class with less than the minimum number of students. If we do not have a full group 24 hours before the class is set to start we will, sadly, cancel the session, refund all participants, and seek to run the class at a different time. Our full booking and cancellation policy can be found in our Terms and Services.
