Service Description
Intended for Thinkers with an intermediate or higher level of Latin, this course focuses on studying Roman authors in the original language, and discussing the ideas they express in the context of the history, politics and philosophy of the ancient world. The aim will to be to provide Thinkers with a wide knowledge of the viewpoints and ideas prevalent at the beginning of the Roman empire, and how these influenced how the Romans built their, and our, world. Among the authors we will study are the politicians Julius Caesar and Cicero; the poets Horace and Ovid; the philosopher Seneca; and the historians Livy and Tacitus. All Latin texts will be provided.
Cancellation Policy
We will do our utmost to ensure every booked class takes place. However, we strongly believe in the value of conversation between thinkers. Thus, we will not run a class with less than the minimum number of students. If we do not have a full group 24 hours before the class is set to start we will, sadly, cancel the session, refund all participants, and seek to run the class at a different time. Our full booking and cancellation policy can be found in our Terms and Services.
