Introduction to Philosophy
For Young Thinkers (10-13)
Service Description
How do you know that you exist? What makes something good? What is colour? In this fun series of meetings we will gather together and explore so many fun questions! This is an introduction to philosophy for young Thinkers. Our goal is to DO philosophy by playing with questions and activities that teach us about the different branches of philosophy. Thus we might discuss questions like: * How do we know the Earth is real? * Can it be good to lie? * Does truth always make sense? * Is a sunset always beautiful? * Does your pet understand you? We will also meet some of the foundational philosophers of Wester philosophy: the pre-Socratics, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle.
Cancellation Policy
All our classes require a minimum number of Thinkers to run. As soon as enough Thinkers sign up you will receive an e-mail from the Scholar running your class with a link to your virtual classroom. If we cannot gather enough thinkers to run a class we will, sadly, have to cancel and/or reschedule. If this is the case, we will e-mail 24 hours before your class is scheduled to start to let you know. To help ensure that your class does take place, please invite others to join you. We find that word of mouth is the best way to let new families know about Thinkers Meet Up. Thank you!
