Welcome to IGCSE Physics TMU style! This course is ideal for those already familiar with the course content or who feel able to learn independently and would like sessions to help them prepare for the exam. Some Thinkers will be taking this as Year 2 of a 2-year course having covered most of the syllabus in year 1 and focusing on reviewing this year. Some Thinkers will only take this course in preparation for exams. In this course we will research and learn about the concepts listed in the IGCSE physics specification. The aim of this course is to learn using discovery and research. We will look at some of the longer exam questions in IGCSE physics and use our knowledge and skills to research the answer and make sure that our knowledge covers all the parts of the IGCSE specification. Please note the course will be taught through research, experimentation, demonstrations, and discussion. We will aim to make this course as interactive and engaging as possible. This course is great for people preparing for IGCSE exams or just looking to learn more about the universe and wanting to develop their higher order thinking, analysis, research, and communication skills. We will be working from the CAIE IGCSE (9-1) 2023-2025 syllabus. You can find the relevant specifications here: Cambridge IGCSE (9-1) Physics 0972 (cambridgeinternational.org) This course will run over a year but you can sign up to it in 6 week blocks, and choose to sign up for only some blocks. NB Thinkers Meet Up will provide a course that covers the all the curriculum content and more. We will work to develop critical thinking and inspire and promote independent research. We can advise when we feel students are ready to succeed in an exam - in terms of content knowledge and exam-skill maturity. It is the parents's responsibility, however, to find an exam centre and register their Thinker for the exam. It is the Thinkers responsibility to put in at least 1 hour of work per week outside of the class to study and prepare for exams. Not all Thinkers opt to take exams, some simply want to learn, which is, of course, also wonderful.
We will do our utmost to ensure every booked class takes place. However, we strongly believe in the value of conversation between thinkers. Thus, we will not run a class with less than the minimum number of students. If we do not have a full group 24 hours before the class is set to start we will, sadly, cancel the session, refund all participants, and seek to run the class at a different time. Our full booking and cancellation policy can be found in our Terms and Services.
