Service Description

Always curious about Socrates and Marx? Want to discuss what freedom means in an era of social media? Or how AI might affect our free will? Then this should be a blast! Join us for a weekly discussion of current events and timeless questions informed by political theory and philosophy. The class will be led by Dr Karem Roitman, university lecturer and writer, whose job is to inform and lead the discussion, never to tell you what to think. In this class you will learn about different philosophies (readings will be made available) and join weekly to have an engaging and challenging conversation. Keep your mind sharp, expand your horizons, and have a really fun time. Sessions for Autumn 2024: - Can we get rid of government? Anarchism, Hobbes, and human nature. - Will AI strengthen or destroy democracy? - Can you make a choice without bias? A discussion of Rawls. - Do we have free will? - What is the ideal education? Each session £15 or book as a group for £55.

Cancellation Policy

We will do our utmost to ensure every booked class takes place. However, we strongly believe in the value of conversation between thinkers. Thus, we will not run a class with less than the minimum number of students. If we do not have a full group 24 hours before the class is set to start we will, sadly, cancel the session, refund all participants, and seek to run the class at a different time. Our full booking and cancellation policy can be found in our Terms and Services.
