Hallo! My name is Debbie and I am a German, Spanish and French teacher.  I love sharing my passion for languages to inspire children to broaden their horizons by communicating with others in a foreign language and being curious about other cultures  We have so many opportunities these days to access and interact with other countries and cultures whether that be for travel, employment, knowledge or simply enjoyment.  I have over 10 years’ experience as a MFL teacher at secondary school level and I have also regularly taught in primary schools (as young as 5 years old!), gifted and talented groups and individual tutoring.

I try to create a ’mini Germany’ in my online classroom by immersing the students in the language from day 1.  Lesson content and progression are carefully engineered by drawing out learning opportunities from what the children want to talk about; making links with their lives, experiences and interests.  Students are encouraged to have a go, take risks and experiment with their learning in a safe, fun and stimulating environment while using a variety of learning techniques to support different learning styles.

Outside of the classroom, I love spending time playing with my young family, exploring the outdoors, travelling and cooking.  We have been fortunate to spend the last few years living abroad which has only added to our love and appreciation of different countries and cultures and has opened our children’s eyes to a bigger world beyond their doorstep.
